Brother Mobile Solutions, Inc. (BMS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brother International Corporation and a provider of products for the mobile workforce, recently launched the PocketJet 673 mobile printer that delivers direct thermal printing solutions, compatible with only iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad mobile devices.
PocketJet 673 has up to 6ppm, at 300dpi resolution and can print up to 8.5" wide on cut-sheet or continuous-roll thermal paper. The printer can connect easily to laptops and handhelds to quickly produce full-page documents with high-resolution text, graphics and pictures practically anywhere.
These lightweight, compact, battery-powered thermal printers help mobile professionals in public safety, pest management, insurance, public utilities, and other service organizations print the detailed full-page diagrams, maps and other documents they need, virtually wherever they are.
"As the popularity and demand of the iPhone and iPad grow beyond the consumer spectrum and into the enterprise world, companies are finding increasingly innovative ways to integrate iOS devices into their field operations," said Ravi Panjwani, vice president of Marketing and Product Management for Brother Mobile Solutions. "The PocketJet 673 is the first mobile thermal printer specifically designed for use only with an iPhone or iPad that delivers fast, full-page documents from virtually any location with an ad-hoc Wi-Fi connection. It helps eliminate the time and costs associated with printing from a fixed location, and gives Apple (News
- Alert) iOS users an operational efficiency they didn't have previously."
PocketJet 6 mobile printers are an ideal alternative for producing full-page documents virtually anywhere your workforce needs them. Their compact size fits in a briefcase or tool bag. Multiple mounting options are also available to fit a wide range of vehicles.
And unlike inkjets, PocketJet 6 printers can be mounted and perform in almost any orientation – even upside down.
"We believe the custom features and ease of use associated with the PocketJet 673 will convince enterprises already familiar with the reliability and functionality of the PocketJet brand to more confidently expand into the iOS world," Panjwani said. "This added to the fact that the lauded Brother RuggedJet 4-inch printer is also iOS compatible, allows businesses of all sizes to reach iPhone and iPad markets and helps increase their scope of services through advanced mobile printing technology."
