Huawei Ascend Y Launched by U.S. Cellular

U.S. Cellular (News - Alert), in association with Huawei, recently unveiled a smartphone, the Huawei Ascend Y. Customers can now remain in touch with friends and families in an extremely simplified manner using this latest device.
Customers requiring a single device to carry out several functions in a simplified and user-friendly manner will find the Ascend Y ideal.
The user-friendly Ascend Y boasts of a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 480 x 320 pixels, thereby providing a comprehensible and vivacious display. All normal Android features – the perceptive Android 2.3 operating system, Google (News - Alert) Maps, Navigation, Gmail, YouTube and SWYPE input – have been incorporated in the Ascend Y.
Customers can also record and store all important events in their lives with the 3.2-megapixel camera/camcorder included in the Ascend Y. The device can also be used to share pictures and videos on social media.
Customers are offered a superior audio experience as the Huawei (News - Alert) Ascend Y uses DTS Envelo technology for delivering virtual surround sound.
In a statement, Michael Chuang, executive vice president of Sales at Huawei Device USA said, "The Huawei Ascend Y is perfect for the social and always connected consumer. The feature rich device provides more than 4.8 hours of talk time and 12.7 days of standby time, which is perfect for multitasking. The Huawei Ascend Y builds on the success of the Ascend range of smartphones and delivers on Huawei's commitment to make technology accessible for more people globally."
Currently, only customers of U.S. cellular can avail the Huawei Ascend Y. U.S. Cellular is offering the device for only $29.99, which comes with a contract for two years.
