iTwin has introduced iTwin Connect to address the myriad challenges facing today’s mobile professionals.
“iTwin Connect addresses the challenges mobile professionals face daily,” said Lux Anantharaman, CEO at iTwin, adding that its high security provides peace of mind, and its simple yet comprehensive features help get things done on the go.
Calling the service the perfect, no-compromise solution, Anantharaman said it’ll benefit road warriors, travelers and those who value their online privacy.
One of the major advantages with iTwin Connect is that it ensures private and restriction-free browsing. In addition, it provides remote desktop access, remote file access and use of the home/office network – acting as a personal virtual private network (VPN).
iTwin Connect features Teleport Me that enables its users to browse privately and without restrictions. All Internet traffic is directed through the secure VPN tunnel, according to company officials, and the Internet is thus accessed via the home/office PC’s Internet connection.
In addition, Teleport Me also provides private access to the Internet via iTwin’s dedicated network servers in United States, Europe or Asia/Pacific. This is useful if the home/office PC cannot be left on, or if the browsing requires an IP locale different from that of the PC.
Additional features include network access, remote desktop, remote file access and hardware-grade security. With such network access, users can engage resources like cameras or media servers at home, or network drives and network applications at the office.
Network-access (VPN) via iTwin Connect reportedly requires zero-configuration.
Users can launch Windows Remote Desktop with a single click to access applications – and their data – on the home/office PC. Remote file access enables them to access all shared files on the home/office PC, via Windows Explorer and from within the applications on the laptop.
Additionally, all data transmitted is encrypted using industrial strength AES 256 bit encryption.
iTwin Connect provides an optional password for two-factor authentication as well.
The firm’s newest offering consists of two identical halves, and users must plug the device into a USB port on the home/office PC to install them. When detached, one half of the device becomes the iTwin Connect “key,” and while on the go, is plugged into a laptop to instantly form a secure VPN tunnel to the home/office PC.
iTwin specializes in simple network-privacy and security solutions. Last January, the company announced its new iTwin Multi functionality.
